LumenFilter

Set up DNS-over-HTTPS

Use the HTTPS endpoint below. After you save it, a lookup for example.com should succeed. Lists update on the resolver; you do not reinstall anything.

DoH endpoint

https://dns.lumenfilter.com/dns-query

Some clients want the host only: dns.lumenfilter.com

Devices

  3. Template or URL: https://dns.lumenfilter.com/dns-query

macOS

  1. System Settings → Network → your interface → Details → DNS.
  2. If the OS build supports encrypted DNS, add https://dns.lumenfilter.com/dns-query.
  3. Otherwise use a browser DoH setting or a local resolver that supports DoH upstreams.

  1. Settings → Network & internet → Private DNS.
  2. Choose Private DNS provider hostname: dns.lumenfilter.com

iPhone / iPad

  1. Settings → Privacy & Security → DNS over HTTPS → Max Protection.
  2. Custom provider: https://dns.lumenfilter.com/dns-query

AdGuard Home / Pi-hole

  1. Set upstream DNS to https://dns.lumenfilter.com/dns-query
  2. Or skip our resolver and pull the filter lists directly into your local blocker.

The public resolver is a shared service. Do not point high-volume recursive resolvers at it. For a household or a few devices it is the intended use.
